Friday Night Comedy brings the very best comedians from the UK and beyond to Alexander’s Live in the heart of Chester.

The only weekly comedy night in the city Friday Night Comedy will keep the laughs coming thick and fast week after week. For each
show we provide four brilliant comedians hand-picked to give you the best night out for the lowest possible price.

We also have our amazing bar, offering a huge selection of craft beers, ales, lagers, wine, gin, rum, whiskey, cocktails, soft drinks
and much, much more. you can be sure Friday Night Comedy customers will all have a great night out! It’s an offering like no other
elsewhere in Chester!

We pride ourselves on bringing the best acts to Chester hosting events most days. Throughout the warmer months we host large live events in Rufus Court and our festivals days in the Alexander's Beer Garden. Please note that some events will require tickets to gain entry and at most events seating is unreserved and extremely limited. However, the dance floor will be in full swing!

Bau Cat ….
Emerging from a sleepy Welsh town is Bau Cat, Abby and Jim began writing songs together in the winter of 2022 honing and crafting a sound that’s their own, it’s fresh with a vein of retro roots running through it. Having had BBC airplay for their first home demo released in January, the duo are embarking on a UK wide tour this summer to coincide with the release of their debut EP in June.

Romeo Stodart …
Romeo Stodart is the lead singer/songwriter in the much loved London based rock n roll harmony group The Magic Numbers. The band comprising of two pairs of brothers and sisters have released five critically acclaimed albums thus far including the self-titled Mercury Music Prize nominated, million selling debut, the follow up Those The Brokes, 2010's The Runaway, 2014’s Alias and their most recent album, 2018’s Outsiders.
Outside of The Magic Numbers, Romeo has collaborated with a vast array of artists including writing songs for & with Jane Birkin, Edwyn Collins, Amadou & Mariam and The Chemical Brothers. He has contributed his unique guitar playing style to various projects, from Damon Albarn’s Africa Express collective since its inception, to playing banjo, guitar & harmonies on the Spiritualized album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light. Romeo was also the touring guitarist with Jimmy Webb & The Webb Brothers, accompanied Mcalmont & Butler on bass duties and has recently been producing and co-writing with Natalie Imbruglia, Billy Bragg, Ren Harvieu & Kathryn Williams.
Romeo is currently working on music for an altogether new venture.
