Wet The Tea, Chris Tavener & More
Our local Folk & Acoustic showcase - hosted by contemporary folk trio, Mountainface - will now be taking place on the third Thursday of the month. So keep an eye to the sky for future announcements! More acts to be announced.
Wet The Tea - Wet the Tea consist of Andy Connally, Andy Saunders and Ciaran Burke. They are all musicians who have tradition Irish music roots that were formed in the Liverpool Irish Centre through Comhaltas. Andy Connally plays the flute, whistles, piano and guitar along with providing the vocals. Andy Saunders plays the banjo, bouzouki, mandolin and tenor guitar. Ciaran Burke plays the Bodhran and Cajon. Together, they blend tradition influences with a modern twist. Tune sets range from haunting slow airs through to blistering reels. Whilst the songs take a journey through traditional Irish, folk, country and more… Wet the Tea will take you through an interesting musical journey.

Chris Tavener is the witty, satirical songwriter saying things that everybody thinks, but nobody says. Rock ‘n’ roll infused with comedy. Folk dipped in satire.
It’s like Peep Show set to music! If Jimmy Carr played guitar...he would be Chris Tavener.

In 2017, he recorded his first live album in two back-to-back, sold out shows at Manchester’s Three Minute Theatre.
