Friday Night Comedy brings the very best comedians from the UK and beyond to Alexander’s Live in the heart of Chester.

The only weekly comedy night in the city Friday Night Comedy will keep the laughs coming thick and fast week after week. For each
show we provide four brilliant comedians hand-picked to give you the best night out for the lowest possible price.

We also have our amazing bar, offering a huge selection of craft beers, ales, lagers, wine, gin, rum, whiskey, cocktails, soft drinks
and much, much more. you can be sure Friday Night Comedy customers will all have a great night out! It’s an offering like no other
elsewhere in Chester!

We pride ourselves on bringing the best acts to Chester hosting events most days. Throughout the warmer months we host large live events in Rufus Court and our festivals days in the Alexander's Beer Garden. Please note that some events will require tickets to gain entry and at most events seating is unreserved and extremely limited. However, the dance floor will be in full swing!

Mondays - Live local and touring bands

Tuesday - Chester's longest running Open Mic Night. Sign up from 7:30pm

Wednesday - LatinMania Salsa classes from 7pm - Late

Thursday - The hottest local bands or tribute shows

Friday - Weekly Friday Night Comedy

Saturday - Great party bands and tributes to get the dance floor filed

Sunday - Live Jazz, Folk or Blues from 2pm

THE NORTHERN SOULTRAIN

Now in their seventeenth year as the UK's leading Northern Soul band, THE NORTHERN SOULTRAIN arrive in Chester with their big soul shakedown party promising the hottest soul night around.... and this Lancashire based, nine piece freight train of a band are showing no signs of slowing down as the group continue to perform at festivals, dance halls and theatres around the UK. 

Fronted by their charismatic and energetic lead singer David John Jaggs, the group also present the sounds of the 'Union Pacific Horns' and one of the tightest and driving rhythms sections currently on the soul scene!

"We are excited to perform for the first time in the 'The Walled City.' Our aim to entice the soul fans of Chester down to Alexanders and on to the dancefloor! That's what our show is all about!" - Ian 'Strang' Barnes (guitar).

THE NORTHERN SOULTRAIN will be playing live, the very best soul anthems from Wigan Casino, Twisted Wheel and Blackpool Mecca. Great songs by Dobie Gray, Frank Wilson, Al Wilson, Julien Covay, Billy Butler and many more. Throw in just a pinch Motown and we have a new look Northern Soul stew served up by Lancashire's very own 'THE NORTHERN SOULTRAIN!' A cabaret show this is not, this is an authentic soul party!
